Windermere - outdoor classroom
Go down into the woods today and see the totally sustainable classroom of archways and benches onsite at YHA Windermere. The centre grounds provide a fantastic, fully risk assessed area for pupils to explore nature trails and complete orienteering courses.
The centre has also teamed up with the National Trust to provide a “Go environmental” package, which enables pupils to visit the new ‘Footprint Project’ of an eco-classroom and Cumbria’s first straw bale building, located within walking distance of the centre.
